Background
Conventional calibration certificates are on their way to becoming obsolete. Leading metrology institutes and calibration laboratories worldwide are transitioning to Digital Calibration Certificates (DCC)—a machine-readable alternative that will play a key role in advancing manufacturing and quality monitoring processes as digitalization accelerates across industries.
From automated testing and globally accessible quality certificates to the rapid development of assessment methods for emerging products, digitalization unlocks vast opportunities to streamline and enhance processes within the quality infrastructure (QI). The implementation of DCC in metrology marks a significant step toward building the digital QI of the future—efficient, interconnected, and ready to meet the demands of modern industries.
Scope
The digitalization of the quality infrastructure (QI) goes far beyond simply converting analog processes and certificates into digital formats. For a truly digital QI, information must be machine-readable, interpretable, and seamlessly usable across systems. Achieving this requires harmonized standards and a clear understanding of stakeholder needs to ensure broad acceptance and interoperability.
This conference invites all those dedicated to shaping a cohesive, harmonized digital QI that aligns with FAIR principles:
- Advances in machine-actionable information and data tailored to the quality infrastructure
- Use cases and implementations of digital certificates and reports that address diverse stakeholder requirements
- Software solutions enabling integration and uptake of FAIR data across systems and processes
- Concepts and frameworks fostering interoperability within a digital quality infrastructure
An International Programme Committee will help refine the scope and structure of this conference to meet the evolving needs of the global community.
